Role Title : Shop Assistant (Shop Volunteer)

How You Can Make A Difference :

By volunteering in a Cats Protection shop, you will raise much needed funds and awareness to support the great work Cats Protection carries out each year – helping thousands of cats and kittens get a second chance in life.

What The Role Involves :

You will assist with the day to day running of the shop by serving customers and by arranging and replenishing stock.

You may also be involved in assisting the the shop manager, and other members of the team, in discussing and implementing changes to the shop layout, pricing etc.

Sharing your passion for cat welfare and promoting the work of the charity will also be important when talking to our customers.

Skills & Experience Required (or could be developed) :

  • A friendly and outgoing personality
  • Confident in dealing with money
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Previous retail experience an advantage but full training is provided

Time This Role Requires :

This role is very flexible and can be shared by a team of shop assistant volunteers, however a regular weekly ‘shift’ of just 1-2 hours per week would really help us manage our shop successfully and to raise those much needed funds.

How We Will Support You :

We will support you by continuously providing day-to-day support, guidance and direction through our shop management team. In addition to this, our Branch Co-ordinator and others will work with you to ensure that you have a positive & enjoyable volunteering experience.
